In order to take a motorcycle test you must first pass a theory test.( Please note that there are no longer exemptions for car drivers. ) The Theory Test takes about an hour to complete and is made up of a series of multiple choice questions and hazard perception clips, which are displayed on a touch screen computer.

The test questions are taken from The Highway Code and The DSA's Motorcycling Manual - The Essential Skills. We recommend that you get Theory Test and Hazard Perception CD-Roms to prepare for this.

The tests are conducted at various DSA Theory Test Centres , from Monday to Friday, by a private company and QuickStart can pre-book tests to help speed up the process.
